Virus library

An analysis of the technologies used by cybercriminals allows us to draw conclusions about the virus industry’s possible vectors of development and more effectively confront future threats. You, too, can learn what actions various malicious programs take in infected systems and how to withstand them.

Android.BankBot in virus library:

A family of Trojans designed to steal confidential banking information from users. Different modifications of Android.BankBot imitate legitimate online banking applications to get access to clients’ confidential data. Some Trojans belonging to this family can scan the system for the presence of banking applications, download their fake versions under the guise of update packages, and uninstall original programs.

A number of these Trojans can work directly with online banking applications; that is, by sending a special SMS message to a number, with which the user’s bank account is associated, cybercriminals can steal money and refill their own mobile phone accounts.

Moreover, the malware can intercept incoming SMS messages, steal phone book information, gather data regarding the infected mobile device, and even uninstall some anti-viruses.

Vulnerabilities for Android

According to statistics, every fifth program for Android contains a vulnerability (or, in other words, a "loophole") that lets cybercriminals successfully introduce Trojans onto mobile devices and manipulate them into doing whatever actions they need them to.

Dr.Web Security Auditor for Android diagnoses and analyses a mobile device’s security and offers solutions to address security problems and vulnerabilities.
